"The Weekly Lectures" >>> Lecture 9

Tuesday Lecture #9
Pop Art and After

Some pop artists are Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, and Roy Lichtenstein. Honestly, I am not a huge pop art fan. I like the abstract art much more. It seems more like scrap-booking, just clipping different images to make one larger images. They also all use a variety of bright colors, which I am not quite a fan of, I would rather use darker, more relaxing type colors. It is still very neat to see though. The lecture discussed many different artists work throughout pop art, specifying that it came from POPular culture, and it was a reaction against abstract expressionism. This dog is just a picture of pop art that I found on google; he is very cute!
