"A Cut Closer" >>> Inflatopia Process
Theresa and I cut all of the sides down to the right measurement and also rounded every corner on each side. And Amanda and Ashley began working on the tabs with grommets. So far, our project is going just as planned. Hopefully it will keep going this smoothly.
"Girls Do It Better" >>> Inflatopia Process
Team Name:
XXit
The final choice was one of my logos.
Team Inflatable:
Our inflatable will give everyone a nice, relaxed, and refreshed feeling upon their xxit. There will be green tea available as well as free henna tattoos. Inside the inflatable will have inflated pillows, chairs, and hand fans. THe outside of the inflatable will be double sided with no roof. This will make the inside of the inflatable much more relaxing on a hot summer day. It will have five sides that are twelve feet long and ten feet tall. We will use steaks to pin down each side to make a "circus shape". The rope will attach to a grommet that will be hammered into the plastic. The sides of the inflatable will also have five buttons on them. This is to keep it from bulging into a huge blob. We will simply iron the two sides of the plastic together to for a button. And this will make a wonderful float decorated with floral designs with a similar warm color palette.
"Painting Doves" >>> Visual Haiku Process
I began some of my dove painting studies for my haiku. I had to do more than ten until I finally got my form down. I have been using some methods from previous projects to develop my sketches.
my haiku:
a swaying tree branch
swirling wind breaks the silence
the dove tightly clings

"Back To The Drawing Board" >>> Inflatopia Process
I refined our final logo for XXit and this is what it came out to be! The spacing between the letters are a lot more equal to our eyes. I also made the arrow congruent. So this is the logo we will use and construct a 3D model.
We are also running into many problems with our inflatable. We went back to the drawing board and refined our model. We are taking a different approach to it now. I feel like we are behind since the other groups have already began their inflatables, but we are running into our problems now instead of during the actual inflatable. So tomorrow in class we should be beginning our inflatable.
"Inflatopia Logo Design" >>> 2D Project: The Word As Form
Here is my final book with all of my logos. Originally, I created forty logos, and refined some of them. But as I began refining them I switched to tracing instead of cutting and pasting the papers. So after that, I traced more logos. I found it easier to trace them straight from the scanned image, than it was to cut and glue papers. And I also really liked how the sketched logos turned out.
My book with stab binding.
The first page in my book has thumbnails of all of the 30 logos that made it to my final book. Next to the thumbnail I described the fonts that I used. The first font is the larger text in the logo and the second font is the smaller text. Some of my logos used the same text for the entire logo. I can use this in the future to reference back to one of the texts that I would like to use in graphic design.
