Below are my top three favorite paintings.
This is my favorite one. It reminds me of something you would see on your wall at home. I used many different tools to create it. I like to do it this way because it gives it a whole new feeling on it. I like how all of the darker rectangles are not perfect. It looks kind of mysterious to me like the circles are trying to escape but can't. If I could correct anything I would not use the small circles, probably make all the circles the same size. But that is also what kind of intrigues me about it, is that the painting is not perfect.
This is my second favorite. This was also my critiquer's favorite. I like how I did not cover the entire page in paint. I tend to keep on working and unknowingly have an entire page covered. I love smaller lines and less paint. It looks chines-ish in a way. I also like the focus point with more lines than the rest of the painting. I would add a few more lines outside the focus point if I did anything else.
I made this one in my one hour session. Again, I took the idea from a student, dropping paint from above and let it go its own way. This one really intrigues me because there are huge splatters of paint, with small lines running away from them, literally. It also reminds me of connect the dots, they all look like they are trying to find each other. And I don't think I would change this at all, I just let nature take its course after I dropped the ink onto the page.
