"Conceptual Art" >>> Lecture 14

We lectured on conceptual art this week. It is a very interesting form of art that does not seem to be as popular as other forms. But it is interesting in it's own way. There is not much to look at, but the message and meanings from the art is very strong. We talked about many conceptual artists, but just to name a few:
Marcel Duchamp
Yves Klein
Sol Lewitt
Yoko Ono

The picture on the right is made by Sol Lewitt. It is very interesting that he drew a picture of what he wanted it to look at, and hired college students to make it. But I also think this is odd for artists to do. To me, it would feel like the artwork would no longer be mine, since Lewitt did not make it himself. But the layout and design was made by Lewitt himself, so it ends up becoming his art.
